ABOUT CATHY

Cathy Ladman is an Award-Winning Stand Up Comedian, Writer, Actress, and Comedy Coach who has appeared on “The Tonight Show” 10 times, with Jimmy, Jay and Johnny, plus the final two anniversary shows of Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show.” She was on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” 6 times, had her own HBO “One Night Stand,” a Showtime special, and numerous other TV comedy shows. She was a writer on “Roseanne” and “Caroline in the City,” and wrote a story for an episode of “King of Queens.”
Cathy became interested in comedy at a very early age, at about 8 years old. She watched comedians on TV, mostly with her dad, as often as possible, and she listened to her parents’ comedy albums, most notably, “Nichols & May Examine Doctors,.” which was very sophisticated fare for someone of her age. She memorized the entire album, and, when her mom came to her bedroom to tuck her in at night, Cathy would do a selection off the album for mom. (Mom did not quite know what to make of this.)
As an actress she's appeared in 2 films directed by Mike Nichols. One day, she was standing next to him on the set, and Cathy just launched into the bit called, “A Little More Gauze,” with absolutely no forethought. Mike Nichols, without missing a beat, said the next line, and on it went. An indelible memory.
Currently, Cathy continues to perform stand-up comedy, work with students, act, and write with her writing partner. She is going to remount her solo show, “Does This Show Make Me Look Fat?”
